We had a last minute change in plans tonight, a spur-of-the-moment drive over the pass to Reno to meet our two brand-new nieces, Molly and Madison, born early this morning to my youngest sister.
They're teeny-tiny, in their little incubators in the NICU, sweet little girls with downy-soft skin and oh-so-perfect fingers and toes. They weigh in at just under five pounds each, and it's amazing to think that they're each their own little person, with their own personalities.
Who can say what the future of a little one holds? I hope theirs is bright, one full of love and life and family, one of joy and peace and faith.
Life is an incredible thing. A miracle, really.
